Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book my first session at Movement Pilates?

You can book your first session by calling the studio at 770-714-4439 or emailing info@movementpilatesga.com.

How do I prepare for my first session at Movement Pilates, and what should I expect?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily but avoid anything too loose, so your instructor can see your alignment. Bring a bottle of water and try not to arrive on an empty stomach. Please arrive 10 minutes early to complete any necessary forms and get a tour of the studio. Your instructor will check in on how your body is feeling that day and introduce you to the equipment. Sessions are 50 minutes long
What is your Cancellation Policy?

To help us accommodate all clients, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full session fee. You can cancel online, email info@movementpilatesga.com, or call the studio at 770-714-4439.

How often should I come?
Consistency is key. We recommend taking 2–3 Pilates sessions per week. This can include a combination of private sessions and group classes.
Does my Pilates Package expire?
Yes, Private and Semi-Private Packages expire in 6 months. Group classes expire in 4 months.
Can I join a group class for my first session?
We ask all new clients to begin with a private session before joining a group class or duet. This helps you learn the equipment safely and gives your instructor a chance to understand your body, goals, and any limitations.
Is Pilates for both men and women?
Yes. While some people still think Pilates is only for women, it was originally developed by Joseph Pilates for a wide range of people, including men and soldiers recovering from injuries during World War I.
What is the difference between Pilates and Yoga?
Pilates focuses heavily on building core strength, muscle tone, and precise physical alignment through dynamic movements. Yoga primarily emphasizes flexibility, balance, and mental relaxation by holding postures and flowing between poses.
What should I look for in a Pilates instructor?
Look for an instructor with a comprehensive certification, a strong foundation in anatomy and movement, and experience working with different bodies and ability levels. A quality instructor should also be able to modify exercises safely, give clear cues, and help you move with confidence.
